Which Pet to Choose

At certain times of the year I seem to see many signs for free puppies or kittens that are free for the taking. It always seems a young family with children will be around the little animals begging to get one, with a parent himing and haring.  A fun site to witness, but I am sure not a fun situation to be in as a parent.   A few years ago in a mall I saw a pet store.  I was surprised to see

At certain times of the year I seem to see many signs for free puppies or kittens that are free for the taking. It always seems a young family with children will be around the little animals begging to get one, with a parent hemming and haring.  A fun site to witness, but I am sure not a fun situation to be in as a parent. 

 A few years ago in a mall I saw a pet store.  I was surprised to see one in the mall and so I went inside to see what they offered.  I was amazed at the beautiful puppies and kittens that were offered.  There were other animals for sale, but these were the best.  I was also shocked at the price of these animals, they were not cheap.  If one of these puppies or kittens was purchased there would need to be total dedication to it’s' care.  Before a purchase of this sort a family or individual would need to read up on what was to be expected of the owner and the pet. 

 There are some very good books available for caretakers that take you step by step in the process of how to train an animal.  One of the most important things to remember is to be consistent, that applies to children also.  The animal will know you love them when you reward them for good behavior.
